About silicone molds for concrete planter

What are Silicone Molds for Concrete Planters?

Silicone molds for concrete planters are objects used to make decorative planters. They come in various shapes, sizes, and colors and can help you get the best planter design that suits your taste. Concrete planter molds are typically reusable so that you can craft multiple planters from just one mold. Depending on the type of silicone planter you buy, you can use it to make concrete planters for tabletops, balconies, living rooms, lounges, lobbies, and many more. You can buy a concrete pot mould based on the intended use. For instance, you can buy an extra large silicone planter mold if you want to put it in the entryway of an office building.

You can use silicone planter molds for concrete, cement, resin, and epoxy. Besides, they are easy to clean and non-sticky, meaning you won’t have to worry about cleaning up the mess. This also makes them easy to remove after usage without causing any damage to the planter. You can make any planter shape with concrete flower pot molds, especially with DIY planter moulds. With these particular molds, you can make any object into a planter.

How to Use Silicone Molds for Concrete Planters

To use silicone flower pot molds, you’ll need your mold, a pair of gloves, a bowl, a small glass/bowl, a small scraper, concrete, water, and a mask. First, you must clean the planter mould thoroughly to ensure no particles are hiding in it. Next, you mix the concrete with water. The water you use should be five times the amount of concrete to ensure the concrete is thick enough. To complete this mixture, you should first pour the water into a bowl and then pour the concrete into the water slowly while mixing it to ensure there are no lumps. The mixture has to be elastic and adjustable and not watery.

After mixing, pour the concrete into the silicone planter until it reaches the brim. Then you shake the mold to ensure the concrete spreads evenly. You have to ensure that there are no empty spaces in the mold. Keep shaking until the mixture runs over, so you’re sure it’s reached every corner. You can use a cement scraper to smoothen the surface of the mold so that the bubbles are cleared. Next, you can place a wet cloth on top of the mixture, then leave it for 6 to 18 hours, depending on the size of the planter. When the planter is completely dry, you can now go ahead to peel it off the mold. You can start by peeling it from the sides slowly. Afterward, you can use sand to clean the body of the planter until it's smooth.
